Our sensory Clutch Ball toy is designed to delight your baby's developing senses. Signature high-contrast hand painted graphics grab baby's attention visually, while varied textures provide tactile stimulation. Its beautiful organic shell fabrics and Nordic pattern make it the perfect keepsake gift.

Also called an "Amish puzzle ball", it was popularized by Montessori educators. Our balls do not come apart, so are not actually a puzzle, but your baby will examine it as if it were a puzzle. Sensory Clutch Balls are used in many ways with babies from 3 months of age - attach a strap and hang above your baby's gym for visual stimulation and to promote kicking. At about 5 months your baby will begin to move the ball with her hands and begin to try and clutch it. The segments make it easier for a baby to clutch than a regular ball. And when it drops, it won't roll far. It's the perfect first ball for babies, and is a popular favorite baby toy.

My 7-month-old grabs this thing the second it's in reach, and the contrast between the light and dark sections really seems to hold her focus longer than her other toys. The varied textures keep her busy during tummy time, which used to last about two minutes max.

The hand-painted patterns are genuinely striking—my baby locks onto them every time, and the mix of bumpy and smooth textures keeps her exploring for way longer than her other toys. It’s a solid little ball that’s already earned a permanent spot in the diaper bag.

My little one can’t stop grabbing at the contrasting black and white patterns, and the mix of bumpy and smooth textures keeps her entertained way longer than any rattle we own. It’s already survived a few enthusiastic drops onto the floor without a scratch, which is exactly what I hoped for.
